IMPORTANT NOTICE: REQURIED TEMPLATER UPDATE To all users of Templater version 3.5.0 and earlier |
An important change is coming that will impact how previous versions of Templater® (prior to 3.7) connect to Google Sheets: Templater’s legacy Google integration method will be retired in 60 days of this post.
While Templater 3.7 and later continue to offer seamless and secure integration with Google Sheets, this change means that previous versions of Templater will lose the ability to connect to Google Sheets entirely.
If you are currently using an earlier version of Templater to connect to your Google Sheets data sources, it is critical that you upgrade to the latest version of Templater as soon as possible. Failing to do so will result in a complete loss of connectivity to your Google Sheets data within 60 days, disrupting your automated video creation workflows.
To ensure Templater can connect to your Google Sheets, please take the following actions:
- Identify the version of Templater you are currently running. Find this info in Templater’s About dialog by clicking the ‘i’ icon in the lower left corner of the Templater Preferences dialog. If the version is earlier than 3.7.0, you will need to upgrade.
- Ensure Templater is signed out its connection to Google Sheets by clicking the Google Drive icon button and then clicking Sign Out within the Google Spreadsheet Setup dialog.
- Visit the Dataclay website to download and install the latest version of Templater.
- Follow the updated steps for connecting Templater to your Google Sheets data source in the latest version. Please refer to the Templater documentation on this topic for detailed instructions.
